Choco-Late de Batirol:
Price: ₱90 small

Food Trip Review:
Place ★★
Food: ★★
Service: ★★★
Verdict: Favorite | Will Come Back |  Just Okay | Never Again
What's Good:
1. Located in Nepo Quad, a cozy indoor and outdoor cafe

What's not so good:
1. Small space
2. Small serving - expensive

Our Story:
We tried the chocolate de batirol in Nepo Quad this night, I think this one is famous since it got many branches from Baguio to  Pampanga. As we approach the counter they handed out the menu to us. We look at it and there were many choices including meals ranges to 150-200pesos. They also serve iced cold batirol. We only ordered one small batirol for take out and it costs 90php.

As I stand in the counter, I saw the staff get the batirol from the fridge and pour it into a pot then heat it up. After that, he poured it into a cup and did some rolling with a stick. Maybe that is to make it look like more authentic.

We sat down for a moment as we wait for it, had a little talk and comparing this cafe to another cafe that also sells batirol.

As our order arrived, our excitement turned into disappointment, it was place into a small cup, very small that makes 90pesos not worth it. But we tried being positive that its taste might be worth the price.

I cannot take a sip on anything hot. But mewmew can, and from his very first sip to the last he kept on complaining and saying its not good. I tried to taste it when it was no longer super hot. It doesn't taste like cocoa or chocolate, its grainy and not really tasty. I also agree that it is not good.

Tsokolate de Batirol:

What's Good:
1. The location of this cafe is good
2. Outdoor cafe with a view of Angeles City

What's not so good:
1. Outdoor cafe - rainy days and sunny days
2. Expose in pollution from jeepneys
3. Many street beggars

Our Story:
Since we were so disappointed with the other Batirol, we went here at Museo Cafe and tried this one just to compare and satisfy us. The counter was placed in a small booth where you can order. They do not hand out menu, its displayed there. You have to order at the booth and wait for your order. The tables are all over this park-looking venue facing the Holy Rosary church.

Mewtut ordered the Batirol while I find spot to sit, so i didnt know how they prepared the drink. Mew arrived at the table with a hot cup of Batirol.  He ask if it can be in a "take-out cup" so we can really compare it to the previous one. But they did not allow it, since its a dine it order.

This batirol is worth 50pesos, bigger serving than the other one. We could have had 2 of it if we did not spent the 90pesos in Nepo Quad. This one comes with pinipig crisps. It was placed in a small cup since I do not like it (but mewtut likes it)

As I said, I cannot take a sip on something hot, I let it cool down. But mewtut bravely drink it. And with his every sip comes a praise on how super worth it a 50pesos can be and its super good. With his last sip he still compares it to the other Batirol. After minutes of waiting I finally took a sip on this half empty cup. Yep, tastes better, much worth it! its not grainy, its pure, taste more cocoa and chocolaty than the other one. Im not sure if its authentic but this one is a winner for us. :)
